Our Team

The Systems & Applications Engineering Team, is based within the Electronic Systems Department. It is responsible for the definition, implementation, integration and operations of all systems we deliver as a business. The team is involved in almost every project within MAT, across many markets. Most recently the they have worked on autonomous vehicles, instrumented sports equipment, wearable healthcare monitors, hybrid drive for motorsport, and automotive control systems for multiple motorsport series. As part of the team, you will have the opportunity and freedom to work directly with our customers, to design, architect, implement and test systems which are at the forefront of technological development, either in a technically supportive or leadership role.

The Role

As the ALM Configuration Engineer, you will support the business toolchain selection as required from the engineering teams. You will manage, develop, and support engineering toolchain for multiple teams within McLaren Applied Technologies. Support tool validation for ISO26262 and Medical Device standards.

Tasks will include:

  • You will support tool validation in line with industry standards.
  • You will manage implementation and roll-out of new and existing tool to various teams within the business.
  • You will manage ALM tools, including creation of project templates, structuring of workflows linked to business process, license and user management, continuous development and improvement to tools and integration of tools across the business.
  • You will develop and provide introduction training courses to the tools being managed.
  • You will provide support and guidance to users of tools.

Skills and Expertise

  • First class degree, or upper 2nd, in a relevant Engineering or highly quantitative field.
  • Have a proven background in ALM software, or toolchain management.
  • Experience of tool validation for functional safety or medical devices.
  • Familiarity with software and hardware development, for example, the product development V-Model and agile methods.
  • Experience of quality process, like ISO9001, would be advantageous.
  • Have an excellent understanding of requirements capture and management processes.
  • Experience of Polarion ALM, Siemens TeamCentre for Systems Engineering or IBM Doors.
  • Proficient with common software products (e.g. MS Office, Project, Visio etc)
  • Have the ability to produce formal documentation to a very high standard.

You will be based at the world-renowned McLaren Technology Centre. Our campus includes a subsidised restaurant, a café, a gym with a pool, break-out spaces, bicycle storage facilities and more.
