Sales Operations Manager - Americas

This individual will report to the Vice President of Sales – Americas and will work closely with the Regional Sales Managers, Network Development, Financial Services, Finance, Logistics, Aftersales and relevant Head Office functions (principally Commercial Operations, McLaren Special Operations, and Finance). The role will lead the sales steering and operations as well as product and pricing management for the U.S., Canadian, and South American retail business.

Principal accountabilities:

Regional Steering:

  • Management of sales planning, forecasting & performance reporting processes with the global operations team covering all aspects of sales management (production allocation / wholesale / retail / certified pre-owned) supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual steering.
  • Leading of the continuous steering of optimized model-mix, volume, and production cadence planning in alignment with the regional and central Sales and Finance teams to ensure target achievement.

Sub-regional and Dealer Steering:

  • Management of sales planning & performance steering processes with the field operations team covering all aspects of sales management (production allocation / wholesale / retail / certified pre-owned) supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual planning at sub-regional and dealer level.
  • Management of individual dealer car flows as well as dealer and regional stock & pipeline.
  • Responsible for ensuring on-time production fill requirements.

Financial Steering:

  • Development of strategic and targeted quarterly Variable Bonus parameters to benefit the overall business.
  • Control of Variable Bonus assessment & reporting processes with field operations to ensure dealer compliance with required standards, guidelines, and dealer target achievement every quarter.
  • Strategic and operational management, allocation, and steering of the overall regional sales support budget in alignment with regional and central Finance departments and based on individual market requirements.

Granular Performance Management / Data Analytics:

  • Management of sub-regional target setting & measurement.
  • Development and key account holder of Country, Region, and Dealer specific granular performance dashboards and analytic reports.
  • Quantitative support to Americas management, network development, and field operations for dealer performance reviews.
  • Development of quantitative & qualitative analyses of market share performance, sales development opportunities, and competitive information in both represented and open territories across the US, Canada, and South America.
  • Creation, review & analysis of Annual Dealer Business Plans leading to development of performance improvement plans alongside the RSM, RMM, RAM and Network Development Manager

Product Management and Fleet Logistics:

  • Management, coaching and steering of Product, Pricing and Fleet Logistics Specialist role.
  • Responsible for spearheading the strategic product management, pricing and development for the America’s region and sub-regions.
  • Representation of US team at relevant meetings with global operations
  • Development of effective working relationships with global operations team through constant liaison / coordination & cooperation


  • Development and implementation steering of overarching Sales and Product Strategy.
  • Responsible for the America’s data and advanced analytics strategy and measures.

Dealer Meetings:

  • Leadership, content management, and follow-up steering of national dealer meetings.

VIP-Customer Management:

  • Development of the regional customer experience journey.
  • Steering of the VIP process for the America’s market and delegation of cross-functional responsibilities.

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, or Finance.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in automotive OEM Sales, Finance, Strategy, or Product Management.
  • Minimum 3 years’ strategic and operational experience in a data analytics driven role.
  • Comprehensive experience developing, implementing, and managing complex data analytics based steering tools preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge and expertise in field management & franchise operations.
  • Excellent and proven presentation skills.
  • Sharp negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and communications skills (written and verbal).
  • Detail oriented with excellent project management and organizational skill set.
