We have a fantastic and rare opportunity to join our Asia Pacific Regional Team. Based in Singapore, the Head of South Asia will be responsible for the Sales, Aftersales, Marketing and Network Development activities across the South Asia region (Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore & Thailand).

Purpose of the role:

Covering a current network of 8 retailers in a strategically important region, the Head of South Asia role will involve regular travel across the region as McLaren grows its presence in some of the fastest growing markets in the world.  This role will ensure the voice of the South Asian customer is reflected in the global plans of the business and ensure the Retail Network is aligned to deliver McLaren’s strategic objectives.

As a member of the Regional Leadership Team, you will be tasked with ensuring that McLaren’s retail network in South Asia is truly World Class, and delivers a sustainable competitive advantage for the business.

Principal accountabilities:

  • Holistic management of New and Used Vehicle Sales, Marketing and Aftersales
  • Oversee the development of the South Asian Team and build competencies to deliver McLaren’s short-term and long-term objectives
  • Manage monthly, quarterly and annual sales objectives with retail partners and ensure infrastructure is in place to deliver consistent results.
  • Manage commercial relationships between McLaren and the South Asian Retail Network
  • Monitor and evaluate local sales trends, market developments and direct actions to ensure achievement of McLaren objectives.
  • Ensure that retailer and regional requirements are professionally represented to McLaren Head Office and that the business is effectively challenged to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers
  • Develop short and long term business plans with retail partners to achieve joint business objectives and profitability
  • Provide the Regional Director with market knowledge and insight to develop performance improvement programmes
  • Monitor retailer financial composites and all available KPIs to ensure that retailer performance objectives are fully met and effective action plans are implemented
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of the South Asian Retailer Network Development Plan
  • Collaborate across a range of business areas to develop strategies that underpin strong residual value of pre-owned vehicles

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • In-depth understanding of the automotive industry in the Asia Pacific region
  • Proven successful experience in leading a team of professionals in the achievement of ambitious profit and revenue objectives
  • Demonstrated experience in developing positive working relationships with independent automotive retailers
  • Passionate about sports cars segment with relevant product and industry knowledge
  • Sound financial background with understanding of OEM / Retailer/ Customer transactions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with formal presentation skills
  • Communication, performance reporting and business case justification at a strategic level within an organisation
