Purpose of the Role:

 

The Business Systems team is responsible for the implementation and support of business processes and systems, focussing on enterprise resource planning and manufacturing operations management.  The Business Systems Analyst proactively seeks out opportunities for improvement, working across disciplines, systems and business areas to ensure that our digital solutions are fit for purpose and support business operations.

 

 

Role Dimensions:

 

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line business system support to end users in SAP and manufacturing systems, including bespoke software
  • You will learn how our primary manufacturing operations management system is installed, configured and maintained, and be a part of the ongoing development of the system
  • Work closely with the central IT team to ensure standard processes are followed
  • Develop and build relationships with the business so that you become a go-to person for process and system queries
  • Implement and deliver solutions and processes in existing business platforms, including Microsoft Power Platform
  • Support the IT service desk in resolving issues
  • Participate in business system and process transformation projects and initiatives from kick-off to aftercare
  • Facilitate workshops and design sessions to elicit requirements from stakeholders
  • Prepare functional specifications and obtain stakeholder approval
  • Provide timely and effective communications with stakeholders and end users
  • Define and execute exhaustive business system test plans
  • Be a champion of innovation, seeking out new technologies and ways of working
  • Assist with the delivery of training in both the new starter training programme and ad-hoc refresher training
  • Identify opportunities for improving training processes and knowledge transfer
  • Support and participate in team knowledge sharing initiatives

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

 

  • This role would suit someone with manufacturing engineering experience interested in moving into software configuration and development.
  • Experience or knowledge in developing software to meet a set of requirements, including using HTML, CSS and SQL
  • Experience of documenting processes and capturing requirements
  • Knowledge of project management principles and techniques including Agile is preferred but not essential 
  • Can communicate effectively with both end users and technical teams
  • Experience in troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Good communicator both verbally and in writing
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
  • Microsoft Power Platform experience is an advantage – SharePoint administration, PowerApps, PowerBI, Power Automate development
