Regional Sales Manager - China

As part of our Track25 business plan we will launch 18 new models or derivatives of our vehicles and look to expand our retailer network into new markets with an aim of having 100 retailers globally.  

Track 25 and McLaren Automotive’ s growing reputation is testament to our world class employees. To ensure McLaren Automotive continues to be at the forefront of the Automotive market, we are looking for a Regional Sales Manager to join our Chinese regional team in Shanghai.

Purpose of the role:

As Regional Sales Manager you will be responsible for all sales activity through a regional network of 6 retailer operations. The role requires the cascading of regional sales plans to each retailer and ensuring that they are achieved. 

You will also work with regional retailers to achieve McLaren Automotives’ business plan with regard to retails and wholesales of car sales (new & used), monthly and annually, and deployment and management of tactical budgets.

Principal accountabilities:

  • The sales role covers – New car sales, used car sales, options, accessories, retailer stock levels and McLaren profitability through the sales channel. 
  • Delivery of Retails and Wholesales in line with monthly and annual targets
  • Create a dealer forward order bank to the plan
  • With the Regional Operations Manager (ROM) set regional retailer sales plans
  • Work with retailers to achieve plans
  • Work with the ROM to set retailer stock levels
  • Work with retailers to achieve planned stock levels
  • Work with sales planning to ensure the optimum build phasing for the region.
  • Be fully aware of competitor activity in the region
  • Monitor retailer margins and price points against the competition
  • Where necessary create retailer support plans and effectively obtain internal stakeholder buy in
  • Manage regional technical support function through the regional technical manager
  • understand and regularly report on competitor activity
  • Work closely with the Regional Marketing Manager and Regional Aftersales Manager

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Experience in, and understanding of the luxury car market in the region.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Mandarin
  • Experience of working with and influencing retailers.
  • Empathic of differing creeds and ethnicity.
  • Can operate and be influential at high levels of retailer management and ownership.
  • Able to influence central stakeholders and earn their trust
