Principal Engineer NVH Testing

For the next 6 years as part of McLaren’s Track 22 plan, we are looking to invest £1 billion into Research and Development, leading to the launch of 15 all-new cars or derivatives during this period. 
An exciting opportunity has opened to join McLaren Automotive to join the Body NVH Quality team as a Principal NVH Testing Engineer. NVH Quality is a collection of subjective and objective factors (squeak & rattle, interior trim/components solidity/stiffness, body panel stiffness, Gap & Flush, door open/closure noise, electric seat and steering adjustments noise ) which have an influence on the customer’s perception of the overall quality of the vehicle, with respect to its intended purpose and benchmark competitors.

Purpose of the Role:

  • Lead the NVH testing team to execute & fulfil the work package independently.
  • Guarantee the growth of the team on the technical competence & the size.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Improve capabilities of NVH team to meet project requirement. Review all related NVH testing report from technical side.
  • Lead to provide qualified delivery of NVH Integration within agreed formats and timescales in time from project point of view.
  • Open to innovative solutions.
  • Establish and maintain a close working relationship with FG engineers, team leaders and managers.
  • Lead NVH target setting and breakdown, integration function department together to meet NVH performance target, track and report NVH status and make proposals application.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • NVH integration experiences, vehicle NVH performance target setting, brake down, could align with engineer and FG for target achievement.
  • Good oral English and communication capability
  • Experience: More than 7 years direct OEM NVH experience in Automotive industry.
  • Complete vehicle integration experiences is highly preferred.

Education:

  • Master of engineering mechanics and related;
